Make Your First Socks

Ready to dive into sock making? Or need a refresher? Fran will teach you how to work up your first pair of socks using thicker yarn, bigger needles, and a simpler construction. Students will work a spiral tube sock following a straightforward sock pattern.

Class Level

Beyond beginner (you know how to cast on, knit, and purl). Students must be 14 and older to enroll.  

Class Content

• Basic sock construction
• Working small circumference projects (double pointed needles vs. magic loop)
• Ribbing
• Top-down construction
• Binding off the toe

Materials

The pattern is free and will be provided. Please bring the following OR students can enjoy 10% off if you purchase your materials at the shop. (Please be sure to shop early so we can begin the class on time.)

• Worsted weight yarn -- light colors are easier to see and work with.
• Knitting needles in size US 4 (DPNs or 40inch circulars for magic loop)

Class Policy

To receive a refund, a class cancellation must be made prior to 72 hours of the start time. To transfer or cancel your registration, you must contact High Tide Fibers before 72 hours from the start time.

Classes may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. In that event, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer to another class of equal value.
