Mungo from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is a worsted weight recycled wool and cotton yarn. It is entirely spun from pre-consumer waste generated by Portuguese spinning mills. Perfect for transitional seasons or knitting year-round (especially in warmer climates). Think cozy beach sweater for after the sun goes down.
The wool used in this yarn is sourced in Portugal and/or Spain. Milled and dyed in Portugal.

Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is dedicated to the production and commercialization of yarns made from the wool of native Portuguese sheep breeds. All of their yarns are minimally processed. The wool is sustainably grown, scoured, milled, and dyed in Portugal. None of their yarns are superwash or bleached. Mulesing is not practiced in Portugal.
Rosa Pomar, founder of Retrosaria, studied History at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Visual Arts at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, also in Lisbon. Her work as a researcher and author focuses on traditional Portuguese textile practices, historical knitting techniques and the material culture of wool.
