Crochet Your First Cowl

After you've learned the basics of crochet, it's a good idea to stretch yourself and dive into that first project. This chunky cowl is just the thing. The Convertible Cowl is unisex, works up quickly using bulky yarn, and gets you comfortable with reading patterns and working garments. Michelle will guide you every step of the way.

Class Level

Beyond beginner -- you're comfortable with basic crochet stitches and/or you've completed Crochet 101. Students must be 14 and older to enroll.  

Techniques We Will Cover

• Working in the round
• hdc and dc stitches

Materials

The pattern is free and will be provided. We are happy to help you find your materials -- stop in or give us a call! Students can purchase materials for this class at the shop and enjoy a 10% discount.

• 440 yards of Aran or Bulky weight yarn (OR 880 yards of worsted weight yarn held double)
• 10mm crochet hook

Note: Our crochet classes are taught by a right-handed teacher, so left-handed crocheters should be comfortable with learning by mirror imaging the techniques.

Class Policy

To receive a refund, a class cancellation must be made prior to 72 hours of the start time. To transfer or cancel your registration, you must contact High Tide Fibers before 72 hours from the start time.

Classes may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. In that event, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer to another class of equal value.
