Stranded Colorwork Hat

Looking to dive into colorwork?  A hat like the Basic Norwegian Star Hat by Cara Jo Knapp is a great first project, and you'll have our knitting instructor guiding you every step of the way.  

Taught by Randi, students will learn to knit a hat using the stranded colorwork method. You will learn:

• An introduction to colorwork
• Knitting in the round
• Managing your floats
• Reading charts

Class Level

Advanced Beginner to Intermediate knitting skills required -- must know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.  

Techniques We Will Cover

• Intermediate pattern reading
• Seamless sweater construction 
• Raglan sleeve construction/increases
• Eyelets, lacework
• Knitting with double pointed needles or magic loop (your choice)

Materials

The pattern is free and will be provided.  

Worsted weight yarn in four colors (you will have leftovers).

Size 6 16" circular knitting needles

Size 6 needles in your preferred method for small circumference knitting (magic loop or double pointed needles).

Class Policy

To receive a refund, a class cancellation must be made prior to 72 hours of the start time. To transfer or cancel your registration, you must contact High Tide Fibers before 72 hours from the start time.

Classes may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. In that event, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer to another class of equal value.
