This is a beyond beginner class for knitters looking to make their very first sweater. It's easier than you think, especially with the help of our instructors.
Taught by Randi, students will follow the Flax Sweater pattern from Tin Can Knits and learn the basics of pattern reading, working in the round, and constructing a top-down sweater. If you've been wanting to dive into sweater making, this is the class for you!
With sizing from infant to 6XL, you can treat yourself, or work up a gift.
This class meets over the course of four sessions, with time in between to make progress:
- Saturday, October 3rd, 9-11am
- Saturday, October 10th, 9-11am
- Saturday, October 17th, 9-11am
- Saturday, November 14th, 9-11am
Class Level
Beyond beginner -- familiar with following patterns and/or you've completed on of our intro to knitting classes. Students must be 14 and older to enroll.
Techniques We Will Cover
- Pattern reading
- Seamless sweater construction
- Raglan sleeve construction/increases
- Working in the round
Materials
The pattern is free and will be provided:
Yarn: this sweater can be worked up with worsted or DK weight yarn.
Knitting needles to reach gauge (see pattern).
Students can purchase materials for this class at the shop and enjoy a 10% discount. Please come into the shop or give us a call if you need help. Any of our associates would be happy to help you pick out a yarn that will give you great results!

Class Policy
To receive a refund, a class cancellation must be made prior to 72 hours of the start time. To transfer or cancel your registration, you must contact High Tide Fibers before 72 hours from the start time.
Classes may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. In that event, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer to another class of equal value.
