The Carillon Shawl by Toni Lipsey is a fun, quick project and a great step for beginners just getting into pattern reading. The good news is that your instructor, Michelle, will guide you every step of the way. You'll have a breezy, statement shawl you can enjoy all summer.
Choose one skein of a color changing yarn and let the colors flow as you work. Or select a few smaller skeins and learn to change colors and work a color block shawl like the sample in the pattern. The pattern calls for fingering weight yarn, but it can easily be made with sport or even a light DK weight yarn. Our shop owner recently worked one up with one skein of Milo and the results were terrific!
This class meets over the course of two sessions, with plenty of time in between to make progress on your shawl:
Tuesday, May 19th, 5:30-7:30pm
Tuesday, May 26th, 5:30-7:30pm
Class Level
Beyond beginner: can do a chain stitch and single crochet stitch. If you joined Michelle for the Intro to Crochet class, this is a great next step. Students must be 14 and older to enroll.

Materials
The pattern is available for free here or you can purchase a PDF version here.
- 555 yards of fingering weight yarn, or adjust for other weights
- 4.5mm crochet hook or adjusted hook size for yarn and preference
- Students can purchase materials for this class at the shop and enjoy a 10% discount.

Class Policy
To receive a refund, a class cancellation must be made prior to 72 hours of the start time. To transfer or cancel your registration, you must contact High Tide Fibers before 72 hours from the start time.
Classes may be canceled or rescheduled for insufficient registration. In that event, you will be offered a refund or the option to transfer to another class of equal value.
