Decription
Loch Lomond from BC Garn is a lovely, GOTS Certified organic wool tweed. A typical British tweed looking yarn. Loch Lomond is woolen spun. That means it has a nice volume, excellent warmth, and at the same time a good long yardage. This results in very light garments. Traditional sweaters, mittens, scarves and much, much more can be produced from this beautiful wool!
GOTS certification requires that all stages of the production are ecologically, environmentally, and ethically sustainable from start to finish. The growing conditions, dye processes, waste water treatment, and fair and ethical working conditions must meet GOTS standards. GOTS is the only internationally recognized organic certification.
The raw wool for Loch Lomond comes from mulesing-free farms in South America. It is spun and dyed in Turkey.

The Danish company BC Garn was founded in 1972 by Bo Carstensen, who comes from a long line of weavers. The focus has always been on developing yarns made from natural fibres in a wide range of colours. In spring 2018, Marianna and Bo handed over BC Garn to Britta and Carsten Kremke, who vowed to continue on in the tradition of its Danish founders.
