Just in on the tide: a BIG restock of Retrosaria Rosa Pomar

It’s a good day when all of your favorites from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar come in! We are fully restocked in Matiz, Vovo, and Mondim. Plus wooden buttons and recycled shell buttons. Matiz always flies off the shelves once it’s in, so we doubled up on the stock hoping that more folks would get to use this lovely Aran weight yarn. It is worsted spun with a pleasant squishy touch that makes it perfect for warm sweaters and cozy cardigans. We have ALL THE COLORS. 

But don't sleep on Vovo and Mondim. We love them all equally! 

Vovó (Portuguese for Grandma) is a versatile and hard wearing non-superwash yarn from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar. This sport weight yarn is made entirely from fine Portuguese wool, mainly from Campaniça sheep. It is a great choice for sweaters and cardigans intended for daily wear. (It is one of my favorite garment yarns to knit with -- ask me about patterns that work well for it!) Vovó is made from the wool of free range sheep.

Mondim from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is a non-superwash fingering weight yarn made from fine Portuguese wool. It is named after a Portuguese village once famous for its sock knitting cottage industry. Most batches of Mondim are exclusively made from the wool of native Campaniça sheep. Mondim works well with any fingering weight sock pattern, as well as for other garments that call for fingering weight wool.

Mulesing is not practiced in Portugal. All of Retrosaria Rosa Pomar's yarn is grown, scoured, milled and dyed in Portugal.
